Trans Felicity is a celebration of transgender joy and self respect captured on film. In this body of work, Lane Levitch takes self portraits in nature after recovering from a gender affirming surgery. As a result of these trips into the natural world, he is reminded that the most important thing in life is your own happiness. Lane believes that trans joy is shown too little in the media, and he hopes that this show will take up space to highlight some of that happiness.
Lane Levitch can usually be found with an Olympus Infinity Stylus in his tote bag, ready to take candid photos. The photos he takes typically find him during his walks and drives alone. Lane’s show Trans Felicity is his first time shooting something that is staged. After moving back to Louisville from New York City, Lane felt drawn to spend time back in nature, specifically at Payne Hollow in Trimble County, Kentucky, to feel more connected to the world around us.
