Fresh Air Cure: An Outdoor Photography Exhibit

Completed in 1865, The Mammoth is a 152 year old warehouse, built by the Union Army during the Civil War. It was then home to Magnolia Ham Company from 1867 until the 1920s and then used by the Louisville Paper Company until the 1950s. It was purchased by the Louisville Tin and Stove to warehouse manufactured good, then in 1988 the Cundiff Moving and Storage took over. Finally, in 2012 the building was bought by artists with a vision to turn it into a creative art center with studios and band practice space-to operate as a DIY creative culture. In the Fall of 2015 the building was condemned due to structural issues. 2017 is the year in which we at the Mammoth Studios are fundraising to make the necessary repairs and get the creative juices flowing again.
Through 2017 the Mammoth is hosting a series of outdoor art and music shows, including participating the Louisville Photo Biennial with an outdoor art gallery. Fresh Air Cure will feature wheat paste Xeroxes on brick walls, insane sculptural installations, beautiful video projections, tiny photos hidden in trees, oversized photos hanging on a chain link fence and so much more.
