About the Artist
Louisville-based Kevin Warth works primarily through photography to engage with issues of identity, sexuality, and the body as a gay man in our postmodern society. Warth is a graduate of the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville, with a BFA in 2D Studio Art and a BA in Art History.
By photographing bondage gear in otherwise normative scenes, Warth subverts expectations of the American household as well as the values attached to it. Domesticity, in reality, exists in many forms; this exhibition offers viewers a glimpse into the artist’s own sense of home.
