Photography Workshops by Danny Dempster & John Nation
Dates: October 5 – October 7, 2017 (see workshop times and details below)
Workshop: Full Moon Shoot – Thursday, October 5 at 6:00 pm – Workshop participants are welcome to meet at Hidden Hill to shoot the full moon with the new bridge. The sun sets at 7:19 pm and the moon rises at 7:40 pm, so we’ll gather at Hidden Hill at 6:00 pm and carpool from there. Bring cameras, tripods, walking shoes, and mosquito repellant.
Workshop: Sunset Shoot – Friday, October 6 at 6:00 pm – Meet at the Utica Community Center (log building in center of town) to greet and present programs. Danny and John will give presentations. Sunset is at 7:17 pm and should it be a promising setting, we may break out for a photo shoot and then reconvene. Those who wish to do so may camp at Hidden Hill. Bring your own sleeping bags and tents. Feel free to bring hot dogs or s’mores!
Workshop: Sunrise/Bridge Shoot – Saturday, October 7 at 7:00 am – Choice of bridge shoot or Hidden Hills gardens at sunrise. Sunrise is at 7:44 am. Cereals and fruit for breakfast; coffee. Shoot until midmorning with Danny and John. A box lunch will be provided for the participants at the Utica Community Center and we will break for an hour to eat. Participants will need a laptop or computer to download their images for afternoon critique. We will wrap up by 4:00 pm.
Cost is $125.00 per individual, or $200.00 per couple. It is not necessary to attend the optional Thursday shoot. The price is the same regardless of events attended.
Directions to Hidden Hill:
Take the exit for Port Rd. At the roundabout, take the third exit for Port Rd and follow it until it ends at Utika Pike, then turn left. Follow Utica Pike until it comes to a T at Market St, then turn left onto Utica-Charlestown Rd. Take the Dead End road and Hidden Hill will be on your left in a half-mile.
