Events: Opening Reception, September 9, 5-7 pm
My journey into reportage began in May of 2020, after protest in Louisville were sparked by the killing of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis. Louisville’s own Breonna Taylor was the subject of this uprising, and I dedicated most of my year to documenting the community uprising and the action in the streets.
I use my photography to expose intimate moments and immerse the observer in the situation from a fly on the wall perspective. This work has been described as romantic and insightful, utilizing natural light while heavily leaning on symmetry. I hope to inspire thought with each image in order to spark curiosity within the viewer.
