TIM FAULKNER GALLERY WILL FEATURE WORK FROM PHOTOGRAPHER SCOTT FORBES AND SUZANNE EVANS.
Working as a color photographer for the past three decades, Scott Forbes has been documenting the poetry and mystery of his everyday life. He has likened his artistic mission to the lesson Dorothy learns in The Wizard of Oz – that the magical, the beautiful and the meaningful in life are not necessarily “somewhere over the rainbow,” but are right there in his own backyard. Selected photographs will on display from several portfolios, including That to Which I Belong, a collection of striking candid views of Forbes’ family and friends.

Suzanne Evans is a native of Louisville, KY. Through self-portraiture and the use of common, everyday objects she explores what it means to be human, a woman, and a citizen in today’s modern world. Primarily self-taught, Suzanne uses an intuitive and heuristic process in which she plays all the parts: stylist, art director, photographer, and model. She creates images that are minimal, sculptural, and conceptual and she designs her own sets, props, and lighting – all of which are typically hacked or homemade using things she finds around the house. Her work has been creating quite a buzz already and the group of images for the biennial promise to be equally intriguing.
