As part of the ArtSeed City Wide Exhibit program, we are collaborating with Louisville Photo Biennial www.louisvillephotobiennial.com, Brick Street Studios, and Jeffersonville Public Library to produce a series of exhibits and programming throughout Clark and Floyd Counties.
Kimberly Carroll Raber is a trained stone sculptor and photographer. This body of work is about the motivating force that drives people into acting upon that feeling or conviction to create, facilitate or dream into being that which brings joy, excitement, satisfaction…that which feeds their soul!
Kim has chosen to capture everyday people in intimate, ordinary and spontaneous moments of their life. Moments that inspire and move them on their quest to find joy, intrigue, excitement, peace and serenity … some provide relief from the stressors that everyday life can bring.  These are moments for a “time out”…moments of truth, solace, therapy and meditation…to listen…so that they may hear answers…from the heart.
Raber says, “When I travel along the countryside and I see laundry on the line… I wonder, what’s their story? What are they about? Home, friends, family, warmth and honest hard work come to mind.
The images are printed on fabric and loosely hung on a clothesline…to symbolize the heart-land…the tribal pulsating force that is within us all. The pieces move with the current… just as life. Our bodies are not permanent, however our impressions and energy that we produce are embedded into the very fabric of the earth…stories that will pass on…
These “passions” are the things that provide a sense of meaning and purpose! No dream is too small or irrelevant! This is our life! Every moment counts! Raber says, “And…I am still passionate about turning cartwheels…”
