Show 1: Urban Abstraction by Jonas Wilson

    Dates: September 1 – September 24, 2017
Events: Opening Reception: September 1 at 6:00-9:00 pm; Silent Auction (see details below), Closing Reception: September 30 at 6:00-9:00 pm
Jonas Wilson creates intriguing pattern and a sense of space with these black and white photographs of buildings in Louisville, KY and surrounding cities. Devoid of nature and people, we are forced to contemplate these quiet, and sometimes disorienting images of our contemporary landscape.
Silent Auction: There will be a silent auction for one of Jonas’ works through the entire run of the show.  All money raised will go to the Louisville Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

Show 2: Terms of Isolation by Joe Mays

    Dates: October 6 – October 29, 2017
Events: Opening Reception: October 6 at 6:00-9:00 pm
The Doors series came out of asking the subjects what it means to be in a space by themselves with just a door. Doors can mean so many things. They can mean protection, privacy or prison. Isolation can be maddening or comforting. The door can separate us from what we want or what we fear. None of the subjects in any of the pieces were professional models. All of the works in the series came out of conversations with the subjects about what comes to mind when they think of isolation. It is my hope that this series leads people to think about what they are running to or hiding from. All of the subjects here have stories behind their images. Think about what you see in their images, because what you see will come out of your own story.
Silent Auction: There will be a silent auction for one of May’s works through the entire run of the show. All money raised from the auction will go to the Center for Women and Families.
Gallery hours will be Saturday, 11 am – 2 pm, and Sunday,1 pm – 4 pm. However, please call (502) 345-7207 to notify us at least 2 hours prior to your arrival.
