    Website: patmcdonogh.com Instagram: @patmcdonogh

    Dates: September 18, 2025 – January 30, 2026
Events: Opening Reception September 17, 5-7pm

This exhibition is a retrospective of Pat McDonogh’s photographic career of 50 years, 1975-2025. McDonogh has thoroughly and lovingly documented life in Louisville, Kentucky and beyond through his dedication to photojournalism and community photographic efforts. McDonogh was an essential member of the Louisville Courier-Journal photography staff from 1983 to 2022, serving as photo editor from 2005 to 2015. One of McDonogh’s final contributions to the legacy of the Courier-Journal was to ensure that the massive archive of photographic material created by staff photographers would be preserved for future generations at the University of Louisville Archives & Special Collections. This exhibition combines photographs selected by McDonogh from his personal archive, including images shot for the Elizabethtown News-Enterprise and the Kentucky Documentary Photography Project, and photographs mined from the Barry Bingham Jr., Courier-Journal Photograph Collection to demonstrate the photographer’s immense prowess and documentary instincts.
