    Ivy Tech Southern Indiana to present Fine Art Photography Exhibit
    SELLERSBURG — Ivy Tech Community College of Southern Indiana will present a fine art photography art exhibit this fall. The exhibit, entitled “Side by Side,” will feature the work of Melissa Dettlinger and the creative talents of the advanced photography students at Ivy Tech Southern Indiana (Sellersburg) and will run from October 3 through November 8, 2013.
    “This will be a great opportunity to showcase the fine art photography of our students alongside their instructor and mentor Melissa Dettlinger,” said Susan Mackowiak, Visual Communication Program Chair at Ivy Tech Southern Indiana.
    Dettlinger, an accomplished photographer and instructor, was recently honored for her outstanding work with the 2013 Adjunct Faculty Award for Excellence in Instruction.
    The exhibit will demonstrate expressions and current issues in modern fine art photography. It will feature large format digital imagery created with contemporary experimental processes. Numerous themes will be explored on a variety of fine art and handmade papers.
    An opening reception for “Side by Side,” the fine art photography exhibit, will be held on October 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Pat Harrison Fine Arts + Design Gallery, located in Ogle Hall which is regularly open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
